Latinas: Together in Community

Twice a year, Unidos will sponsor a series of eight workshops for immigrant Latina women who want to learn to advocate for themselves and their families here in Yamhill County. The workshops will address topics including

  • Access to educational services for themselves and their families
  • Options for health insurance and understanding the health care systems
  • Immigration issues
  • An understanding of local and state government
  • An introduction to civic participation

The purpose of these workshops is for the women of Yamhill County to feel comfortable and well integrated as residents of  Yamhill County and to exercise a stronger voice in their broader communities. Latina women will improve their English language skills in a supportive environment  while gaining a better understanding of the organizations and resources in Yamhill County.

The first series of workshops is to begin in Saturday, February 11 at 10 am at the McMinnville Head Start.  Please follow this website (and Facebook) for more information as it becomes available. For more information or to express your interest, please contact Isaura.
